June 2005 PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 01 June 2005
Welcome to the June 2005 issue of The Pentashield.

Firstly, as you may have noticed, the issue is on time this month as we had no hold ups in the publication schedule.

Secondly we have some new original content in this issue, particularly the article on the Production Control Documentation that Chrysler Australia used in the Tonsley Park Plant.

This issue features the following -:

  • A new Film Review by Hugh Savage.
  • A Technical Article on the Production Control Documentation for Aussie Chryslers.
  • A short article on the appreciating value of Australian Muscle cars from the late 60’s and early 70’s.

Included are Committee Member reports from Gerry and Nik and we have an updated Events Schedule.

In addition there are some quotes for members’ perusal and other items of pictorial and humorous interest.

There is one letter to the Editor this month. The article on the Dodge Charger that appeared last issue did not generate one letter – very disappointing as the article contained not only incorrect facts but also good examples of journalistic bias!

Lastly a quick reminder that the Annual Subscription for Club Membership is due this month. A Membership Renewal Form is included with this issue.

Cheers,

Michael June 2005

Letters to the Editor

Re the April 2005 Issue of the Pentashield. I was most surprised and disappointed to read the Events Report by Nik. The Confederate Flag, or ‘Stars and Bars’, is still frequently used today by many as a ‘Rebel’ flag. It is frequently seen at car shows with American cars. What about the “General Lee”? No “Dukes of Hazard” for Nik.

Nik is perfectly entitled to hold whatever personal views he likes but unless those views have something to do with cars or the club I do not see any place for them in the Pentashield.
