Welcome to the December 2004 issue of The Pentashield.
This month we have a bumper issue with a strong contribution from Club Members.
The issue features the following main Articles-:
* A review of the film “Vanishing Point” by Hugh Savage.
* The first contribution to the Readers Forum - “My first Valiant” by Mark MacNamara.
* A Member Profile on Club Member Peter Garden.
* A Book Review on the potential future of motor transport by the Editor.
* Keeping your Mopar running – Cooling Tips by Fletch.
As well as Committee Member reports from Gerry and Nik and an updated
Events Schedule we have some items of technical interest and of course
some reflections on the humour of life to brighten up your day.
As Editor I am particularly pleased with the contributions club members
have made to this issue. Hugh’s film review brings out his budding
talent as a film critic whilst Mark’s article on his first Valiant
shows perfectly why he is so supportive of the Marque. Fletch, although
not a club member, in his article makes many sensible and practical
points on vehicle cooling. It is pleasing to see this level of
participation in the Club Magazine and I hope members can look forward
to this developing trend continuing in future issues.
In this issue there are no letters to the Editor, which is a change
from the precedent set earlier this year. If you have any suggestions
on the magazine, or the Club and its range of member activities, write
or E-Mail the Editor – I would be happy to publish your contribution.
This of course is the last issue for this year and the next issue, due
about February 12th next year, will be late as I will be in WA till the
8th. Members can expect the February issue of The Pentashield to be
available on or about the 20th of the month.
My best wishes for a happy and safe festive season and may you all continue to enjoy driving your Mopars over the holiday break.
Cheers,
Michael
