October 2004 PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 01 October 2004
Welcome to my first events report. I would like to start off by thanking my predecessor, Graham, for a job well done in his work as events director over the last few years.

Since the last events report, we had an evening club run from Eloura Beach to La Perouse for dinner at one of the seafood restaurants. It was a little chilly that Saturday evening back in August, but the night was a success and we'll be doing a similar run sometime next year.

A couple of club members attended the Chrysler Wake Run in late August. From all reports by those who attended it was an enjoyable weekend.

The biggest new event on the calender was the 1st Annual Chrysler Nationals in Tamworth organised by the Slick 6 Packs magazine crew. Well, it was a nervous drive for me running in the freshly built engine in the Pacer, but it was worth the effort. For a first run event it was an excellent turnout with over 110 entries, many were country cars that don't make it to the shows in Sydney. After the drive north, the following week we drove south to the American Car Nationals at Queanbeyan. Stay tuned for full event reports on both these shows in the next issue of Pentashield.

Entry forms are available for next years Dyno Day to be held on the 23rd of January 2005. If you need an entry form contact either Gerry or myself. Get your entries in early as we expect all available places to be filled prior to the event. Entry forms are also available from the club's website www.cavoa.com

Don’t forget the All Chrysler day on the 17th October and this year’s Berrima run is coming up on November 21st.

Regards,

Nik
