FROM THE EDITORS DESK

Welcome to the October issue of The Pentashield.

This month you have a new Editor and, due to the different Computing equipment now used to publish this magazine, you will notice a slightly different format to that used in past issues.

I would like to commence by issuing a vote of thanks to John Huntington for his excellent contribution to this Magazine as your Editor during the past few years. His dedication to the principle that every member of this Club is entitled to a comprehensive journal that covers the interests and the passions of club members has led to the development of one of the best Chrysler Club magazines published in Australia. His personal contribution has included detailed well-researched articles on the historical development of mopar engines and the various breakthrough vehicles and models introduced by Chrysler over the past 70 years. My special thanks John for a job well done!

Every new Editor will have a different emphasis on journal content and style. Accordingly in forthcoming issues you will notice some changes in content with an increased emphasis on techniques and suggestions for the restoration of your Chrysler. Articles by Club Members and others on their special interest in the marque will be featured from time to time. To introduce this feature we have included this month an article by club member Gerard Rivet on how to “Lighten up your Mopar”.

Some style changes planned for the future include a different magazine layout with a section devoted to discussion on selected technical and special interest topics and reprints from magazines about Australian mopars in the past.

In the immediate future I encourage all members to consider contributing to this magazine – if you are worried that you do not have the experience to write an article do not be concerned. Part of the Editors job is to help you with the content and the words. Don’t be shy – contribute your knowledge and see your name in print!

I also encourage all members to write to the Editor if you have a point to make or you have a suggestion for improvement in the journal or the way the club operates. Make your voice heard by writing a letter to the Editor!

Editorial Policy

1.The Pentashield will be published bi-monthly in the months of August, October, December, February, April and June. The Pentasheet will be published bi-monthly in the months of September, November, March, May and July. These publications should be available for distribution by the monthly club meeting dates.

2.The Editor reserves the right to edit change or omit a part of any article or letter submitted for publication. No offensive or libellous material will be published.

3.The Chrysler and Valiant Owners Association Limited will accept no liability arising from the content of any article or letter published in the magazine and the content of any published article or letter remains the responsibility of the author.

4.Any Advertisement submitted for publication in this magazine will be printed as closely as possible to the format and content as submitted by the advertiser and the Chrysler and Valiant Owners Association Limited will not be responsible for any errors or omissions thereto.

Well that is enough for now. I look forward to contributing to member’s mopar interests in the Pentashield and the Pentasheet during the coming year. I trust it is going to be an active year.

Cheers,
Michael
