Welcome
back to another events report.
The
3rd annual CAVOA Mopar Dyno Day has been run. It was another top day
- thanks to all the entrants who put cars on the Dyno and bought
raffle tickets and T-Shirts. Also big thanks to all the CAVOA members
who helped out on the day as well which kept things running
smoothly. The crew from Mick’s Motorsport was outstanding
once again - they put 30 cars on the Dyno and at the end of the day
we were only running fifteen minutes late.
A special mention
should go to Guy from Wagon Wheels who bought the 300C along and put
it on the Dyno. There’s talk of even more cars from the new stable
making an appearance next year.
Although
it's not a competition a couple of awards were given out on the day:
Biggest
HP award went to Jim with 384.8hp in the 360 CL Charger
Most
improved went to Frank Kanak with 358.0hp in the K13 Charger
CAVOA
committee's choice went to Daniel (Coyote) who bought along his
unregistered Charger which he has just got running again.
Mick's
choice went to Tony for his 337hp Hemi 6 Centura.
I
had suspected a blown head gasket on the Pacer and confirmed it the
weekend before the Dyno day when I did a compression test. Power was
down at the drag day and the coolant system was being pressurised and
the compression test showed number 5 was down in cranking pressure
compared to all the other cylinders. I decided to throw it on the
Dyno anyway and it was down 25rwhp over my previous best. Oh well,
good excuse to pull the head off and perhaps do a 'little' more with
it.
We
have once again entered a club display to this year’s Motorex at
Homebush. Gerry organised this year’s winter escape weekend: all
feedback said it was a good weekend and this is confirmed in the
report elsewhere in this issue.
A
new show has been organised by Geoff Day, of the Combined Ford Clubs
of NSW Inc. The show location is the controversial MegaCenter site
at Liverpool. For every vehicle entered our club will be paid a
guaranteed minimum of $10.00. This should increase as more sponsors
come on board. So please consider entering your vehicle in the club
display. Details are printed elsewhere in this month’s Pentashield.
Please contact me ASAP to get your name down on the entrants list.
There is no cost to enter your vehicle.
If
you haven’t been to the clubs website lately, drop by and check out
all the pictures from Chryslers on The Murray and last months Dyno
Day.
Regards,
Nik
