Thursday, 15 December 2005
Welcome to another Pentashield Events Report. It's been a busy couple of months once again.

Early September had our annual Berrima run. The turnout, particularly form other clubs was a little disappointing but with the poor weather early in the morning most people probably decided to stay in bed. Turned out to be a rather nice day, but it did get a little chilly whenever the sun his behind the clouds.

The following weekend saw a group of us head out to Tamworth for the 2nd Annual Chrysler Nationals. It was a wet drive up to Tamworth on Friday afternoon. The weather cleared on Saturday morning and the rain stayed away for the rest of the weekend. Turnout was slightly disappointing with fewer cars then last year, but once again the poor weather forecast would have kept some people away. However the quality of cars in attendance was outstanding. The CAVOA's did well, with George collecting  three trophies with the challenger - Mayor's Choice, Top Ten and best US Muscle. Chris took home best convertible with the Dodge and Murray, Mark and myself took home awards as well. Overall a top weekend.

The following weekend saw a smaller group head down to Queanbeyan for the American Car Nationals which incorporates the Canberra Chrysler club's show and shine. Jeff bought the VJ Ranger out for a drive and we caught up with Dave once we were in Queanbeyan. Paul and Zoe also joined us for the drive to the show. Of the group only Tony and I entered the show, where we joined Mark and Murray who had arrived a little earlier. Once again the weather wasn't the greatest but it stayed dry all day long. The efforts of out club members was once again rewarded with Murray winning best Charger, my Pacer picked up best R-VG and Fletch had another outstanding day taking home trophies for best VH-CM and best Australian Chrysler sedan.

The All Chrysler Day is only a few days away now, we are still looking for volunteers. We once again require about an hour of time from volunteers at the spectator gate during the day or manning the desk at the CAVOA display. If you can spare an hour of your day helping out the club please contact Michael Brinsden, Gerry or myself (contact details at the front of this magazine).

If you are not going to be at the October or November meetings and you are planning on coming to the Christmas picnic may you please let Gerry or myself know to help us organise the day. This years picnic will be at Western Sydney Regional Park, Cotswold Rd (off Cowpasture Rd) Abbotsbury (Fairfield) meeting form 10am. Further details are in this edition of the Pentashield.

Regards,

Nik
