Hard to believe
another two months have flown by since the last Pentashield.
Since the last
report the bowling night was held out at Parramatta.
Unfortunately I was quite ill with that ‘flu that had been getting around and
hence unable to attend that night. It was reported a good number of members
attended the event. There was a slight hiccup with staff losing track of what
had been paid for, which was sorted out with management and a good time was had
by all.
On the day of
the Chrysler Restorers swap meet at Fairfield,
Gerry had arranged an unofficial cruise out to Robertson via the Hume Highway and
return through Albion
Park. It was an excellent
drive and a good opportunity to blow out some of the cobwebs. The pie shop at
Robertson was worth the trip alone. Whilst at the pie shop, a gentleman who
produces reproduction Charger Floor Pans introduced himself to us. The quoted
price was significantly cheaper than that available from some of the retailers
so for those interested I believe Hugh has his contact details.
Motorex was on
early in July. A big thank you to all the club members who bought their cars along
for the weekend. I must also thank all the members who volunteered their time
over the weekend to man the display, especially George and Steve who were there
both days for an extended period of time. The display once again received a
good response and we were kept busy with inquiries about the Club.
The All Chrysler
Day is still a little while away, but it is time to start organising the
volunteers. We once again require about
an hour of time from volunteers at the spectator gate during the day or to
assist with guiding entrants parking their vehicles.
We have also
received an official invite to the Tamworth Nationals so it is now an official
event for those on Club Registration.
Regards,
Nik
