August 2005 PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 03 November 2005

Where has the year gone! I suppose that when you are busy you are not aware of how quickly time goes by. Then you sit back and think about what you have done. On a personal level I have been busy with the wife’s projects. Somehow she has acquired a VH REGAL 770 sedan. It is progressing slowly but surely with many a night passed sitting in front of the computer looking for bargains. Religiously Mopar Market, Ebay and the Hemi6Pack.com ads are searched and it is slowly paying off. Luckily there has only been one bad apple and that was from a Yankee website. We also have been busy improving and personalising the 100hp NEON. The mods have all been worth while and whilst not a classic Chrysler, it is still a thorough enjoyment to own and drive. While the power may not be there -or even close to it - the driving dynamics are quite refreshing.

On a club level, I am busy scheming with Nik about other Mopar events. Trying to think how we can improve on the Dyno day which so far has proven very popular with the punters. I must admit, on a personal level, the success of the drag day was a triumph. I feel events like these bring together the folk with a common interest and will hopefully allow the hobby to continue to grow. There are other events on the Mopar calendar that are worth attending. Albury will probably always be the big one but there are plenty of others. Mopar Sunday in Queensland sounds like another good event to attend, as will be the Tamworth Nationals. Events like these are continuing to come to fruition and are not just dreams.  There has also been a multitude of Mopar coverage in a few magazines of late including Street Machine and Classic Car Magazine. So if you are ever in a position to help in an event like these please stand up and be counted.

On that note I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have put their trust in me. I would also like to thank the hard working members of the Committee. They have made things run very smoothly. Be sure to check out the Club Website as it has recently been updated with more fantastic pictures.

Well the clock is still ticking so I guess its time to go back onto the net and keep looking for that elusive bargain. Till next time….

Gerry
